some financials and numbers of my last book launch

Mutie Spawn Of The Monster Bomb is still really just a handful of days old, so i can't judge anything by that, but here's some thoughts I had and posted a couple days ago on social about my the announcement, I'll post them here with some additional thoughts

I think it's important for everyone to have a realistic view on the numbers and sales that other people bring in, because it will help themselves. Something that will help other indie artists. 😊👍

"just some inside baseball for Indie artists /people getting into self publishing, I have roughly 90,000 followers across social media platforms (70% bots? 🤖😬). and my newest project Mutie Spawn Of The Monster Bomb just came out a week or two ago, maybe posted about it 50 or so times across all platforms, Instagram, YouTube TikTok, Facebook and X. And as of this post, I've sold two copies 😄 a modest start! $.99 each, a 20 page book. A rough estimate, those posts have approximately 45,000 views total. kind of the new normal.

interaction from other artists and followers across the board is low, has been for years, probably is for everyone. Oversaturation? Fear of competing when trying to sell their own products for limited dollars? not sure

we're often on our own as Indie artists, trying to find what's working in the moment. insta REELs are the only thing across all social media platforms I found working still, just had one hit over 800,000 views. It's brought in quite a few people and sales on my other page @adamarcherart11

mutie's sales will def pick up over the coming weeks, especially as I come out with future issues, (halfway done with the issue 2, having so much fun, and I can't wait to get all five out that are already written and drawn😬🔥) but self publishing like this for 15 years and 30+ graphic novels, this is kind of par for the course. Just want everyone to know that it's definitely a struggle at times, even those with larger followings.

but always be yourself with your art, otherwise you'll be building the wrong audience .

And just try to build on that audience every week and every month. In the meantime, having multiple sources of revenue is recommended as you chip away at your passion projects ❤️👍

I think it's important as Indie artists to not take numbers or anything personally. I think today we're just super oversaturated with a ton of content, amazing art, amazing, material, amazing creators, and it grows every day, and now with AI there's tons more material, I think a lot of people are overwhelmed with the fire hose to the face of content. All of us are trying to build an audience that we can sell to, that's the blessing of social media, it's ended the power of publishers being complete gatekeepers, but the downside is you need to protect your sanity and protect your time and a lot of cases by limiting how long you're underwater on social media swimming around.

I don't have a lot figured out, but I think the best we can do is create our best material, enjoy ourselves as much as we can, and at least make an effort to put your work out there,. And somewhere in there, remember to unplug every now and then. 😄
